Est. 2025 — Independent IT & Networking
Hubris Network designs, builds and secures IT infrastructure — server clusters, container platforms, enterprise networks, event connectivity and live streaming. Built on open-source tooling, documented honestly, and run properly.
What we do
Open-source tooling, sensible defaults and documentation a human can follow. No vendor lock-in.
We plan, build and look after server setups — Proxmox clusters, Ceph storage and LXC containers. When a node fails, everything keeps running.
Clean Docker setups that are easy to back up, update and hand over. Every service runs from compose files you can actually read.
Routers, switches, firewalls and VLANs — configured, tested, and left with notes you can actually follow. If it has a CLI, we can make it behave.
Segmentation, wireless links and fibre — networks designed around how you actually use them, then documented properly.
Temporary networks for events — wireless links, fibre runs and live RTMP streaming that go up fast and come down clean.
Fewer exposed ports, key-only access, fail2ban and private access networks. We lock things down without locking you out.
Custom infrastructure work — no cloud dependencies, no vendor lock-in.
The Lab
What's running right now in the Hubris Network rack. Real hardware, real workloads.
Learning Proxmox and clustering on repurposed enterprise hardware. Currently figuring out Ceph storage and high availability. Broke it twice, fixed it twice — that's the point.
One Pi 5, a PoE hat, and a lot of trial and error. Currently learning Docker and seeing how much this little board can actually handle before it cries.
MikroTik-powered routing and firewall lab. Learning VLAN segmentation, firewall rules, and how not to lock myself out of my own network. 1Gb backbone, plenty of mistakes, steady progress.
About
Hubris Network is my home lab and learning journal. What started with one MikroTik router and a Raspberry Pi is slowly becoming a real infrastructure lab — emphasis on slowly.
I'm Noah. I'm figuring this out as I go — VLANs, Proxmox, containers, all of it. No cloud dependencies, no vendor lock-in, no pretending I know everything. Just hardware, open-source tooling, and a commitment to recording the journey honestly.
